I established Zephyr Knoll Farms in 1998 as a unique alternative to more costly tractor dealerships. Z.K.F. can import most any brand of tractor or construction equipment to meet your needs. With this in mind, I would like to provide information to better enable you to make an educated decision when you are considering a tractor purchase.

About our used Japanese Tractors: Iseki & Yanmar

The majority of the compact tractors in this country originate in Japan, China or Korea. In Japan there are many small farms each having a small tractor. These tractors are used primarily for the purpose of retooling. Many manufacturers build tractors for this purpose. Listed below are the makes of tractors these companies have exported to the U.S. for multi-purpose use.

Ford, New Holland - Shibuara
Cub, Case International - Mitsubishi
White, Bolens - Iseki

The tractors used on the Japanese farms do not get used very much as farmers there can only rototill once or twice a year. Due to cultural and financial incentives, Japanese farmers tend to get new tractors well before their old tractors are used very much. Tractors that are used are considered to have a lower value in the Japanese market.

U.S. buyers many times prefer to purchase a good used tractor. In fact, we will boast of how we were able to obtain a good deal on a used tractor. Hence, there is a large demand because there is a shortage of used tractors. Because of the shortage of used tractors within the U.S., used tractors from Japan are very desirable.

Used Japanese tractors tend to have little wear. Rototiller operations are very easy on machinery. The engine and drive train are operated at a constant rpm and constant load, therefore these tractors have been used well within their design capabilities. Typically the only signs of age are cosmetic from the sun and weather. This is in contrast to tractors used in the U.S. where typically they are used as multi-purpose units and many times with a front-end loader. This and the fact that U.S. operators will often attempt to exceed the design capabilities of their compact tractors, leading to a shortened service life. This is why, in many cases, the tractor used in Japan is the desired tractor to purchase!

Zephyr Knoll Farms purchases only used tractors with low hours requiring only minor repairs and some cosmetic help. All of our tractors are then brought up to a standardized level of quality and condition, being fully serviced and checked out. They all have a rear 3-point hitch and power take off for operating category one standard implements.

Zephyr Knoll Farms also offers new TYM tractors. These tractors come with a 5 year warranty. If you need a loader, we carry TYM loaders also!

We provide chainsaw chains made to order. Also in stock are new  finishing mowers, brush cutters post hole diggers, box blades, backhoes, land rakes and gage wheel sets of two. From Midwest, we have a bale transport hay spear. Koyker provides us with loaders in various sizes. For your lawn mowing needs we carry Country Clipper's line of Zero Turn Mowers that cuts your mowing time drastically! Come in and take a test drive.You will be impressed with these mowers! Tonuitti provides us with new implements such as finish mowers, tillers, and sickle bars. For your winter needs,  we carry Puma snowblowers. We carry NAPA batteries in stock and can order any NAPA product. If you don't see what you want on our site, we also take orders for most items that aren't in stock or you see on manufacturer's links we post on our site.  Also available on some of our products are brochures and catalogs at our shop.  If its parts or repair you desire, our certified mechanic can assist either by phone or at our shop which is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm weekdays and Saturdays 9am-2pm and Sundays' by appointment if made during previous week.
